Hi,
Im trying to create a Mingle macro which would have to create a card and set some properties based on calculations.
Is it possible to use the mingle macro gem to create/change properties in existing cards or create new cards ? If that's not the case, is there anyway to do it via the API ?
I've tried to find information about it in the rdoc's and forum, but havent been lucky so far : |
Thanks for your attention.
Kind regards,
Francisco

You can create and update cards via Mingle's API. For details on all of Mingle's API capabilities please see here. In particular Mingle's Card API is likely to be of interest to you.
Please let us know if you need any more information.
Thanks

Hi Suzie,
that's great. But can I invoke API calls from within a macro ? Adam mentioned that JS could be used to do it, but I dont have much more information.
Anyway, that is helpful already.
Thanks!
Cheers,
Francisco
Hey Francisco
Yes, you can invoke the API from a custom Mingle macro.
The best way to get advice and help with this to post any questions you have to the Mingle add ons and extras community. This is a Mingle community where our users have shared their examples of Mingle add ons and macros they have written. I know that there are some examples of macros that call the API out there and hopefully you'll be able to get some help doing this via this community.
Thanks

Hi Francisco.
Partly in response to your question, I've just posted about our approach to writing more sophisticated macros of the kind that it sounds like you are thinking about.
