NOTE: For large projects, please contact support@thoughtworks.com before migrating any projects to your SaaS instance. This is to ensure that no other users are migrating at the same time. (This is only temporary)
Migration Steps
Below are the steps to migrate projects from your local Mingle instance to a Mingle SaaS instance.
- Login as a Mingle Administrator user to perform the activity
- Perform Export on your local Mingle instance
Step 1: Click on project and then on ‘Project Admin’
Step 2: Select ‘Export Project’ link and click on ‘CONTINUE TO EXPORT’
Your project export will be downloaded to your local system in *.mingle format
Note: Before exporting the project, ensure that all users have email ids associated with their profile. This will be required as users will need to reset their password on Mingle SaaS instance by clicking on ‘Forgotten your password?’ link.
- Create a Mingle SaaS instance https://www.thoughtworks.com/mingle/signup/
- Import the exported project to the SaaS instance:
Step 1. Login to SaaS instance and click on ‘Projects’ tab.
Step 2. Click on ‘IMPORT PROJECT’ option and upload the *.mingle file through ‘Choose File’ option and click on ‘IMPORT PROJECT’
FAQs:
Q1 . What about attachments?
Ans : All the associated attachments will be included in the export and migrated.
Q2 : What about users?
Ans : All the users associated to project will also get migrated.
Q3 : What about custom macro?
Ans : They will not get migrated and also they are currently not supported on SaaS.
Q4 : Does it support bulk upload of multiple projects?
Ans : Unfortunately, not now but we are working on the same.
Q5. What happens to Programs?
Ans : You can do the export-import of program as well in the similar fashion.

Q6. How will our Custom Project Templates be migrated?
Ans: Custom Project Templates will have to be migrated the same way as the projects. After the import, the templates will appear under the 'Project Templates' page.
