Our team would like to have Mingle be the single source of truth for a distributed team, where not everyone works for the same company. We'd like to include a team calendar in this.
I know Mingle supports display of an externally created calendar (such as a Google calendar) by using an iFrame. However, that really doesn't support our process, because we'd either have to make our team's calendar public (which is a data security issue) or we'd need to have everyone logged in specifically to the calendar provider to see the calendar iframe correctly. Because we're working for different companies, there's no shared identity (LDAP,AD) service we could leverage. So the Mingle login and the calendar login are separate.
Basically, the problem is that we'd want a calendar that could use the same authentication as Mingle, so everyone who could see Mingle could be guaranteed to see the same calendar. Ideally this would be "build in" calendar functionality in Mingle. Maybe a new type of wiki page, or a new "card display" type (with "calendar event" being a just another card type).
