This has been mentioned in other threads as well for other scenarios. I just wanted to detail another instance where case sensitivity can potentially cause difficult to debug issues.
Simply, environment variable overrides appear to be case sensitive as well. For instance, if you have a variable defined in an environment called "SOMEVAR" and override it in a job but call it "Somevar" it will treat these as two separate vars. The reason this is an issue is simply because you may think you are overriding a var because of the same name but may in fact not be because of the case-sensitivity. It is not intuitive that vars should be case sensitive.
