We have found ourselves moving more and more of our services over to cloud-based platforms. Initially, 1 or 2 internal applications were migrated, but as time goes on, we are finding it more and more useful.
We are now looking at moving some of our CI resources to the cloud. We have certain periods where we require a large amount of build / deployment resources (go agents), while at other times we use barely any agents. To cater for this, we are busy planning and testing automated agent configuration. However, 1 very big limitation we find as an Enterprise customer is the licensing model & registration process used between Go Agent and Server.
Is there a mechanism available to automatically deploy a new go-agent, providing it with required authentication mechanisms (keys) and then dynamically registering it with Go server (all this on the host running the agent)? The process at the moment requires the agent to be installed and then manually approved on the server. Then allocated to an environment, and then resources assigned. Not very conducive dynamic environments.
We are using Go Enterprise 12.2.2
