After the Release 16.2 we discovered a couple of issues after the Ruby upgrade to 1.9.
- We found a bug that would prevent database connections from being used effectively. This would lead to application slowdown and sometimes downtime on Mingle 16.2. The 16.2.1 release fixes this issue and prevents further downtime.
- Due to import control restrictions by the governments of a few countries, the jurisdiction policy files shipped specify that strong but limited cryptography may be used. An unlimited strength version of these files indicating no restrictions on cryptographic strengths is available for those living in eligible countries (which is most countries). But only the strong version can be imported into those countries whose governments mandate restrictions.
Starting with Java 8, the JCE framework will enforce the restrictions specified in the installed jurisdiction policy files. To counter this, we recommend installing an unlimited strength policy JCE jar applicable to your Java version from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html
We recommend upgrading your version of Mingle as soon as possible to avoid any downtime due to database connection errors. Also ensure you have the JCE jar added to your Java 8 installation.
